Visiting the Puppies

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO MEET THE PUPPIES
We invite adoptive families (those who have made a deposit) for one visit. When the puppies are roughly 7 to 8 weeks old, families are invited to a Family Visit Day. The visit is weather dependant because it takes place outside.
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of adoptive families we manage, as well as the responsibilities of our own family lives and caring for our dogs and puppies, we can only arrange one visit per family. When the puppies are roughly 7 to 8 weeks old, visits will take place on a family visit day (typically a Saturday or Sunday).

Finally, planning a visit to'select' your puppy is not feasible because it is both unwise and impossible to do. Although many puppy purchasers believe that meeting the puppies is the greatest method to choose, it is really the worst approach. Puppies' moods alter based on whether they are hungry or have just eaten, if they are weary or have just woken up from a nap, whether they have just had an energetic play session or a restful siesta, and whether they have had visitors/activities that day or not. The pup you see at the time of your visit is not always representative of the pup as a whole. The temperament exam is the greatest approach to choose a puppy, which is why I invest in it.  The temperament exam is the greatest approach to choose a puppy, which is why I pay a professional to perform them. Furthermore, planning such visits is challenging because each family is allowed 6 hours to choose their puppy. For the procedure to be effective, each family must be given a 6-hour window to make their choice before we move on to the next family, who is eagerly awaiting their time. We are unable to schedule a visit within your 6-hour time frame.

Why we only accept visits from families with deposits?
We are occasionally questioned why we only allow families with deposits to view our puppies. This is not unexpected given the amount of 'what to do when buying a dog' websites that recommend first visiting the breeder and seeing the puppy's parents. The issue with these sites is that their focus is the customer, not the health and safety of the puppies or breeders. The following are the reasons why we do not allow visits from families who have not made a deposit. Please keep in mind that our puppies are nurtured in our home, in rooms. This means you can't come visit the adult dogs or me unless you also pay a visit to my puppies and their mother.

Safety of the Puppies
Puppies' immune systems are still developing. When visiting puppies, many unwary guests have carried sickness (parvovirus, distemper, etc.) with them, resulting in the death of the entire litter. I personally know some breeders who have lost whole litters due to guests bringing in parvovirus.

Stressed-out mothers raise stressed-out puppies.
A new mother is emotionally aroused and on high alert. When a stranger pays a visit, Mom feels worried, prompting her body to produce cortisol, which is then released into the milk. The puppies grow agitated after consuming this cortisol-rich milk.

Panicked mothers harm their puppies. Mom's mood shifts dramatically when a stranger pays her a visit. She perceives a threat and rushes rapidly to examine it. . In their haste to get out of the whelping box and assess the hazard, several mothers have mistakenly trodden on or crushed a pup.

I don't own the puppies. The puppies are all sold to families. I am only the keeper. However, I have been entrusted with the care of these puppies during their vital first weeks of life. As the guardian of other people's pets, I owe it to them to do all in my power to keep them safe. If one of the puppies was yours, I'm sure you'd want me to do the same for him.

Safety of my dogs and my family
People who email me are complete strangers. I don't know anything about you except that you wrote me with some basic information about yourself and your family (which may or may not be real). I'd want to invite you, a stranger, into my house. This endangers the safety of my dogs and my family.

We live a typical family life. We have family obligations, duties, and obligations. Inviting strangers into our house disrupts our capacity to function as a regular family.

Time spent with visitors is time spent away from my puppies and pets. Raising puppies and dogs is a full-time job. Every minute I spend with guests is time I am not spending working with and caring for your puppy to ensure you have the greatest puppy possible, or loving and caring for my own dogs, which is why I breed in the first place.

This is not a petting zoo. Some individuals believe that going to see puppies is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I will not jeopardize the health and safety of my puppies, pets, or family so that someone can snuggle with puppies. Only serious and dedicated purchasers are deserving of such a concession.
